Evelin Awards

An award was presented to Elisheba Garis, a virtuous woman and an exemplary mother who is well-known in our Assyrian Syriac community in Tur Abdin. She devoted her life to serving her family and raising her sons and daughters a good upbringing. She spent most of her life with her family and is still living in the monastery of Saint Gabriel.

In appreciation for all her good qualities, good reputation, and a long vocation of giving she was presented with the 2019 Evelin Exemplary Mother Award.

An award was presented to Dr. Ghazala Melki. Mrs. Ghazala Melki is the life partner of the late Malfono Noaman Hanna. She is a doctor, a virtuous mother, and an active member in the ranks of the Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO). In recognition of all these amazing qualities, she deserved the first Evelin Exemplary Mother Award for 2019.

The Award was presented to Mrs. Laila Elias Sabbagh, who is the sister of our own mother Evelin Sabbagh. She was a model similar to our mother in the kindness of heart and generosity. The award was presented to her with the 2020 Evelin Exemplary Mother Award.

In addition to being an exemplary mother who devoted her life to raising her sons and daughters in an exemplary and good upbringing, she was also a teacher and educational leader known for her credibility for more than thirty years. In addition to being an active member and leader in the ranks of the Assyrian Democratic Organization (ADO) she was and still is an example to follow. In appreciation of her amazing qualities, she was presented with the Evelin Exemplary Mother Award for the year 2019.
