Saad Awards

‏This year’s Award was offered to the Great Malfono Nuri Iskandar, honoring his unmeasurable efforts for the preservation and revival of the authentic Syriac Music; where he has devoted his entire life to teaching, composing, noting, and documenting it.

• ‏The Committee of the author, and poet malfono Saad Isaac Saadi’s Annual Award for “Blossoming and Blooming the Syriac Literature,” is offered to institutions or individuals concerned with this field. ‏This year’s Award is awarded to malfono Benjamin Haddad, honoring his efforts, research, and productivity in the Syriac language and literature.

• In honor of all his efforts, the annual Malfono Saad Saadi Award for the year 2021 was presented to him.

• Malfono Yusuf Begtas is a fountain of generosity in the field of Syriac literature and service to our Assyrian Syriac people. He served many years of his life teaching the Syriac language in the monastery of Saint Gabriel and Deir al-Zaafaran. He is a permanent participant in all conferences, activities, and television interviews related to the Syriac language. He has a website devoted to spreading and reviving the Syriac heritage in the name of Karyohliso.com, which is one of the most important websites concerned with Syriac literature.
• In honor of all his efforts, the annual Malfono Saad Saadi Award for the year 2020 was presented to him.

• BET KANU’s mission is to build a foundation to advance the endangered Surit/Surayt dialects of the Syriac language. This goal is achieved by creating all types of media products such as animated songs, mobile apps, websites, cartoon series, books, and more—for children and adults alike. Its slogan "Syriac for the Digital Age" explains the forward-looking purpose and optimistic ideology.
• BET KANU founder, Akkad Saadi, was presented the annual Malfono Saad Saadi Award for the year 2020 with wishes for continued success.

• A prominent teacher of the Syriac language and literature at the Monastery of Mar Gabriel for more than fifty years.
• A teacher of the Syriac language in the monastery of Atshana from 1970 to 1975.
• Residing in the monastery with his family, dedicating his life to serving the monastery, the language, and the Syriac heritage
• He enjoys an incredible reputation and high appreciation from all our people, at home and abroad.

• Mr. George Rizkallah holds a BA in English Literature from Damascus University, and worked as Director of the Aramaic Language Institute in Maaloula. He loved and adored the Syriac-Aramaic language (Maula dialect) and contributed to preserving and reviving it among the younger generation by teaching it in special courses and publishing dozens of poems in it.
• He written many songs in Malouli Aramaic dialect that later published into a songs album and that was performed by Milad Abdel for the first time. He also translated the "Portrait of Jesus" audio project from Arabic into Malouli and recorded it in his own voice. He also translated the New Testament for the first time in history into Malouli dialect.
• He published many books like "Introduction to the Aramaic Language in the Maloula Dialect", in addition to book titled "Vocabulary".
• He passed away in 2016 and was honored by Damascus University with a solemn celebration at the Al-Assad Library in Damascus.
• In recognition for all of his efforts in serving the Syriac language, he was honored with the Malfono Saad Saadi Award for "Reviving and Developing the Syriac Heritage" for the year 2019. The award was received by his honorable family.

• He was honored by the committee of the Malfono Saad Saadi Award for reviving the Syriac Literature for 2019.
